Privacy notice

Your information should fit too.

What we collect

You can use the quick Square Peg Check without giving us personal or financial details. We count when a check starts or finishes and the broad money areas and decision types involved; we do not collect its individual answers. Your completed plan is saved on your device. If you use My Money without signing in, household costs, follow-up details and reported outcomes remain in your browser. If you sign in and save, we store your account identifier, email address, provider names, product categories, monthly costs, contract status, review dates, useful follow-up details and any saving you report after completing an action. We do not ask for bank details. We also count important steps in the Savings Engine, the broad category involved and reported saving amounts so we can measure whether recommendations lead to useful outcomes. If you turn on renewal reminders, we store that choice and a record of reminders sent. If you join the Square Peg Weekly, we separately collect your email address, consent wording, date and sign-up source. If you send a partnership enquiry, we store the details submitted so we can respond. We also count which comparison routes are opened.

Why we use it

We use saved household information to provide the review, retain your plan and improve Square Peg’s recommendations. We use outcome information to distinguish possible opportunities from savings customers report actually achieving. We use your email address only for services you choose: renewal reminders and, separately, the Square Peg Weekly. Each is optional and has its own consent. You can turn reminders off in My Money and unsubscribe from the Weekly. We use partnership-enquiry details to respond and manage a possible business relationship.

How long we keep it

We keep a signed-in Money List and reported outcomes while you choose to save them. You can export or delete that saved data from My Money. We keep your subscription record while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we may keep a minimal suppression record so we do not email you again by mistake, unless the law requires otherwise.

Who receives it

We use trusted website and email service providers to run Square Peg. They may process information only to provide those services. We do not sell your personal information.

Your rights

UK data-protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase or restrict the use of your information, and to object or complain. A dedicated privacy contact route will be added before the first newsletter is sent.

Accounts, reminders, browser storage and comparison links

The Check and calculators run in your browser and do not ask for bank details. My Money uses browser storage so your list remains available on the same device. If you sign in and explicitly save it, the list is also stored securely against your account so it can follow you across devices. Renewal reminders are off by default. If you turn them on, we email you before saved review dates; turning them on does not subscribe you to marketing. You can turn reminders off, clear your list, export it or delete it from My Money. Comparison services have their own privacy and cookie notices when you visit them.
